So this morning…
that thing you carry?
The thing you've schlepped
from there to here?
The thing that's not so bad some days
and insufferable the next?
That worry?
Umm, yes.
That.
What if you put that down today?
What if you took a deep breath
and just left it right there?
What if you allowed yourself
a little freedom today?
Freedom to let God take care of it.
All of it.
Whatever it is.
He's more than capable, you know.
He can handle whatever worries you.
Talk to Him about it,
ask Him to take care of it,
and then walk away from it.
Leave it.
And in the moments where you are tempted
to pick the worry back up,
say no.
Audibly if you need to...
(plenty of people talk to themselves
in the middle of Target…you would fit right in, right?). :)
Don't start worrying again.
It won't lead to growth.
Or change.
Or fruit.
When you are tempted to worry again,
pray about it the thing you're worried about.
Give it to God again.
And remind the Devil that you have done so.
There are far too many exciting things waiting today
for you
to waste
one more moment
worrying.
Don’t fret or worry.
Instead of worrying, pray.
Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers,
letting God know your concerns.
Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness,
everything coming together for good,
will come and settle you down.
It’s wonderful what happens
when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
~Philippians 4:6-7
Many blessings,
Deni
