Fresh.
What is not to love about the word
fresh?
It is so, well, fresh.
And new.
And bright.
Fresh brings good things
~positive things~
to mind.
There's no downside to fresh.
side note on a possible downside to the word fresh:
If you're living in the 1950's
and you're talking about a boy getting fresh with you…
but that's not this fresh.
Ahem.
And so we have a new year.
2014.
And it is fresh.
It comes with new calendars pages just waiting to be filled.
And it's new.
There are adventures to be had
that we've only begun to dream about.
And it's bright and shiny and it's here for you and for me.
Waiting.
For us.
Brand-new.
So that bright-shiny thing that waits for you?
What will you do with it?
How will you approach it?
Will you greet it with a knowing wink and jump headlong into the newness?
Or will you dread the uncertainty that newness can bring?
Like all fresh things,
this new year has a shelf life.
It's perishable.
It's here now.
It's good now.
It's to be savored now.
So go for it.
Squeeze all that you can out of today.
Don't look back on what has spoiled in the past.
Savor the goodness,
the freshness,
of today.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
Many blessings,
Deni
