{peace} today.

God is teaching me about peace right now.
It's an unfolding lesson,
and I am grateful for it.
I needed it.

I am learning that it's a sort of faith-awareness
~looking at what God is doing and where He is leading~
and where He is not.
At least that's what it's seeming to me recently.

God will bring into my life what He wants to
when He wants to. Hello.
(cue me smacking my forehead while saying "duh").

So us in the meantime?
Focus on what He has brought into your life.
And into mine.
Focus on
~the yeses~
and rock it out.

He will make you aware
of new opportunities and adventures
when it's time for them.
Be aware.
Pray like crazy.
And be ready.

So…Jesus in the boat with His friends…
remember that Bible story?
Was Jesus freaking out when the storm came?
When the waves started rolling?
When the boat started rocking?
No. He was sleeping.
His friends did enough worrying for all of them, anyhow.
I can do that, too.

What did Jesus say when they woke Him up?
They thought He didn't care.
On the contrary, He did.
He knew what was coming.
He knew what they were in the middle of.
And He asked why their faith was so small
and spoke peace into what they were experiencing.
Peace. Be still.
And. It. Was.

And so, in my life these days,
I am trying to notice when Jesus is telling me
to have faith
and not be afraid.
I'm trying not to fret and worry
and run around trying to do things in my own strength.
His plan for you and for me
is enveloped in peace.
And that's what I want.
Today.

Jesus got into a boat, and his followers went with him.
A great storm arose on the lake
so that waves covered the boat, but Jesus was sleeping.
His followers went to him and woke him, saying,
“Lord, save us! We will drown!”
Jesus answered, “Why are you afraid?
You don’t have enough faith.”
Then Jesus got up and gave a command
to the wind and the waves,
and it became completely calm.
The men were amazed and said,
What kind of man is this?
Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
~Matthew 8:23-27

Then you will experience God's peace,

which exceeds anything we can understand.

His peace will guard your hearts and minds

as you live in Christ Jesus.

~Philippians 4:7

Many blessings,
Deni
