{for when the focus is off} now.

Sometimes
it's all you can do
to keep your head up.

Sometimes things hurt
and it's just too hard
to remember
who you are.

But in those moments
when the focus is off,
when your head is pounding,
and you just want a dark corner
and a teddy bear,
lift your head.

And squint to see the wonder that floats overhead.

You see, God has big plans for you and for me.
And in the midst of the struggle
and the
walking-this-mortal-sod life,
we can rest in the knowledge
that we are
enveloped,
surrounded,
and hovered over
by God Himself.
He longs for you and I to listen
to the rhythm of His love for us.

So when the sound of your wounded heart
threatens to drown out the sound of
God above,
stop and look up.
And see
and know
and hear
that He is good.

Let Him bring things into focus for you.
Today.

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,

    who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
 he who keeps you will not slumber.

He who keeps Israel

    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
 the Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,

    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.

The Lord will keep

    your going out and your coming in
    from this time on and forevermore.
~Psalm 121

Many blessings,
Deni
