{when the night is long} now.

Night.
It comes quietly.
Like a hush. A whisper.
Like the moment when you close your eyes to sleep. Peace.

But sometimes, the night isn't welcome. It's dreaded.

It's dark.
And uncertain.
And we flail our arms and try to find our way.

Sometimes we curse the darkness.
We are scared.
We want the details.
We want to see.
We'd like to know what's next and what's just around the bend.
But...what if the answers just aren't coming?
The night can be so very long sometimes...

But sometimes, even in the darkest of nights, there is a glimmer.
Of hope.
And faith.
Listen closely. Not with your ears, but with your heart.
If you're quiet for a moment and lift your head just slightly,
you'll see something hanging in the air.

It's a lifting.
Of soul. Of spirit.
It might only last for a breath, but it's there.
There's hope up high.
There's light there for you. For me. For us.
All we have to do is lift our heads toward the Light.

The next time you find yourself stumbling.
Lost in the dark-
in the long, long night-
remember to lift your eyes.
There's light up there.
And keep your eyes open because something's on the horizon...
the night won't last forever.

Joy comes in the morning.

Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning.
~Psalm 30:5

Many blessings for your day,
Deni
