this thing called grace.

(John bore witness about him, and cried out,
“This was he of whom I said,
‘He who comes after me ranks before me,
because he was before me.’”) And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
~John 1:15-17

Thus says the LORD:”The people who survived the sword found
grace in the wilderness;
when Israel sought for rest, the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
~Jeremiah 31:2-3

So this squishy thing called grace?
This elusive, feathery thing that's out there
and available
in here
all the time?
It's real.

A gift from the God who loves you.
A gift that isn't just received once,
but needs to be accepted daily.
We have to own it.
Take it in
~in the midst of our messiness~
and claim it as our own.

What good is a gift if we don't use it?
Don't live with it?
Don't wear it?

So, grace?
As I walk this road,
grace becomes more here.
More now.
More real.

It's about looking in the mirror
and knowing I'm enough.
It's about taking another moment to think
before I react. Before I speak.

Perfect?
No, I'm not that.

But I was given a gift of love
~this grace~
and I give the greatest gift
when I receive others
in grace.

Who will God put in your path today?
May they be someone who needs to know grace,
and may we rise to
extend it
and live it
and own it
and give it away
today.

Many blessings,
Deni
