I was the Substitute Teacher in several 

Music classes yesterday.

We watched a documentary

that followed the members of an orchestra

as they did their thing.

Through the filming of the documentary,

the orchestra members had the chance to tell their individual stories. 

Stories of their childhood.

Of connecting to music.

Of bringing the two

~the individual experience and the shared experience~

together. 

One experience informs the other.

And it was great having the chance to hear the individual stories

when it's normally a group seen as a whole.

It is important,

it makes the shared experience more rich.

More colorful.

More lyrical.
